Dani Harmer as
Tracy Beaker and the casting of:
Saffron Coomber as Sapphire,
Amy Leigh Hickman as Carmen
and
Noah Marullo as Gus.
Other new dumping ground kids joining the series are 10 year old
Jessie Williams (Yvonne Rhodes Theatre School) from Essex as Lily Kettle
She arrives at the Dumping Ground with her sisters, Rosie (
Claudia Colling), aged six, and Poppy (
Katie Anderson), aged four.
15 year old
Richard Wisker (represented by
On It Artists) from Essex (previously seen in Law and Order:UK) is Liam who is like the Artful Dodger without the pick-pocketing!
14 year old Frank played by
Chris Slater has Cerebral Palsy and becomes Liam's loyal sidekick. 16-year-old Christopher is from Pelaw in Gateshead.
Christopher landed the role of Frank after the BBC emailed his school in search of actors. He said: "I've always been interested in acting and was in every play at school. Being in Tracy Beaker has been an unbelievable experience.
"I couldn't ask for better people to work with. I'm going to sixth form to get my grades and then I'm hoping to have a career in acting. Being in films is my main goal but I'd also like to be involved in script writing."
Six year old Harry is played by
Phillip Graham Scott.
John Bell plays Toby, 11, an only child from quite a posh background who's parents were killed in a car crash.
Brother and sister Johnny, 11, and Tee Taylor (aged 9) are played by Joe Maw and
Mia McKenna-Bruce respectively.
Mia (represented by
Kelly Management) is from Kent and is an experienced young actress who made her debut TV appearance in Eastenders.
Screenterrier has received lots of messages from youngsters wanting to be on Tracy Beaker or on TV.

You need to get involved with as much drama and theatre as you can both at school and outside school; you need supportive parents who will help take you to classes, take you to auditions and help you apply to agents; you need to gain enough experience and talent that an agent will agree to represent you; your agent will then tell you about auditions you may be suitable for; you need to do so well at the audition that the casting director and show's producer think you are the best person for the role. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm amazed Richard is 15. He looks around 12/13 in 'Tracy beaker returns'. I would quite like to know how you get to be in these sort of things. I have watched every episode of this and i even watch the 1's i miss because of my martial arts. I have saved stuff on i-player (wii) to watch this program. Do the cast of Tracy Beaker returns see these comments????

Holly, dont know if the cast read the comments but my daughter is Katie Anderson who plays Poppy and I certainly tell her about them and she is a little young to read them herself. Its lovely to read such nice things.

Yes she is in series 2 but I think it will only be one episode. She has just lost her front tooth and it looks really funny and you will probably notice if you watch her. She did George Gently on the beach not far from where we live on Easter Monday and she had to take her shoes and socks off and play in the sand and it was so cold but she didn't really notice. Ill tell her your a fan and let her read your comment as she loves anything like that. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteHi Emily. We live about half an hour away from where Katie filmed Tracy Beaker. My other daughter Megan has just done some extra work for them and was dressed as a bumble bee as it was for fancy dress. Really cool dress so keep an eye out for her in the next series. Katie's birthday is 9th March and she is 6 now. She got Tracy Beaker by chance really and doesn't do a lot of auditions although she did do George Gently. She just has a really normal life and only goes to drama once a week.

ReplyDeleteHi Emily, Yes Katie is in yesr 2 now and is having a great time.She is in the same class as her twin brother although they do argue a lot. Claudia is in year 3 now as she is a year older than Katie. Megan and Katie play a lot together but they also like to shout at each other sometimes. Jessie is lovely and has started the Secondry school now so I dont think she did as much filming this time. If you like Drama I would go to a good Drama club but Katie just got very lucky and I think that is because she is small for her age so can play somebody younger. I will only let Katie watch the little bit she is on on George Gently as it is really for Mams and Dads and I wouldn't let her watch the whole programme either.

i think i could play a 6 or seven year old i am very small maybe the same size as claudia maybey an inch taller i am the smallest in year 6 and some of the new year 3's are taller than me
ReplyDeleteHi Emily. Yes Lewis is the name of Katies twin brother. She only does single days of filming really so doesn't get to know anyone but Jessie looked after her a lot on Tracy Beaker and she is a lovely girl. You will enjoy doing the Drama group. Katie goes to Activate in Sunderland. She has been filming today for a series called "Vera" but couldn't do it as she was too small so Megan her sister had to do it and they put fake blood on her head which looked horrible but megan said she had great fun.

ReplyDeleteI read the sunderland echo so i read her brothers name has she got any other brothers or sisters?she did not look as shy when she was with jessie on filming i live near jessie as she lives in essex i live about half an hour away i got a call back from my audition so i might get a small role on tv did she like amy leigh hickman as she worked alot with her to. i love drama and my teacher at school is my drama teacher i do acting twice aa week i was oferd an audition for a film my mum said but my mum said i was onley little so i was quit scared of leaving her well good luck to them two with their filming katies really sweet ill look for megan name in january when the series starts and for katie my auntie lives in sunderland and im going up there for my birthday which is the 14th october and ill be jessies age ill probably be on before my birthay im onley staying up there for two days i wish i could meet Katie bye

ReplyDeleteliam cant be fifteen because saphire's the oldest and the (BBC website broadcasting tracy beaker returns)have a factfile of her. she is 14 so liam must be younger STARS4U holly its my agency and it finds great theatre productions to star in. if someone sees you on stage (david tennant came to see the wizard of oz) they might want to shoot you in a television series so act 100 and 10% at all times. hope i could help:) bye

Hi! my name is eve and i would SO LOVE to be on tracy beaker returns! its my favourite show ever! if anyone knows any places where they do auditions and what you have to do in them. or if the cast reads this maybe they could put in a good word for me. i do lunchtime acting sessions at school and i act all the time in my bedroom. i do REALLY REALLY love acting and i am really good at learning lines and i wouldn't be too nervous in front of the camera . i did use to be nervous but i am better now. i REALLY REALLY REALLY love acting and this really does mean a lot to me. thanks x

ReplyDeleteHi I'm Lauren, I feel I have what it takes to be one of the cast members on Tracy Beaker Returns! Unfortunately I don't take acting classes and I would like to know wether you have to take them to become a cast member of a show? Although we do have class lessons! I feel I'm quite a humorous person but can be serious and happy as well as anything else! I don't have a favourite cast member because they are all so brilliant! Congratulations Emily on your daughter Katie getting one of Lily's adorable younger sisters Poppy or Rosie! They are absolutely brilliant together! I play the violin and love art! My old friends think I was quiet, but my new friends seem to think the opposite!

I go to The Friary performing arts and sports college high school in Lichfield. I have experience in school productions and shows and i go to drama classes in school and i am about to start acting classes outside of school. Hi, my name is Emily and No there is no more tbr but Poppy and Rosie will be in this series called belonging where Lily tries to get them to meet there dad, but Poppy and Rosie run out crying. Lily plotts another plan and tells her dad to bring lots of cakes and sweets. poppy is then sick. The foster parents and Mike are really cross with Lily and Tracy hope this helps and good luck with your acting career I got to- Temple Academy of Performing arts and I am also 12 and go to Langley Park School for Girls and am in year 7 and also started in September!xx:)

Sorry Lauren I am not Katie's mum but her mum has been on here before. I just know a lot about them as I am a big fan sorry xx P.S a good acting agency if you don't got to classes is thertre school, but they only do auditions for really good CV's. Or if you are good enought and you are really good at acting then your drama class will put you through for an audition. Katie was amazing last night so sweet you must be so proud of her! xxxx
