A casting director based in London is currently casting an exciting new 13 part drama for CBBC called SPARTICLES.
See below:
We are looking to cast 11 lead characters, between the ages of 10-17.
The scripts are excellent, as is the production team, and the project really is a big opportunity for young actors. I am looking for actors from a range of ethnic backgrounds and physical abilities. I am keen to find really good young talent and you don’t have to have had previous experience, just a raw talent and desire to act.
SPARTICLES is a drama about a world with no adults. It is from the same team that created the award winning SUMMERHILL – Stephen Smallwood (The Day of The Triffids, Murphy’s Law, The Vice) is producing, the writer is Alison Hume (Summerhill, The Roman Mysteries, Rocket Man) and it is being directed by Jon East (Head of CBBC Drama, Spirit Warriors, Summerhill).
SPARTICLES aims to be the ultimate in child empowering drama. It will offer a vision of how life would be for children on planet Earth with no adults. Quite simply, it is a drama series for children featuring only children. In this simple premise, SPARTICLES is both suspenseful and liberating. The series will dramatise both the jeopardy and the opportunity afforded by putting children in charge of our world, and what’s more, in charge of saving it.
The series will be shot in Bristol for 13 weeks from Monday 26 July – we wish to cast as many children as we can from Bristol and the surrounding area but we will also be looking at children from all over the country. I will be starting castings in the week commencing Monday 19 April up until the beginning of May.
If you would like more information please email: THIS CASTING IS NOW CLOSED and include a photo, a bit about yourself, your age, where you live and your contact details.

I would love to audition- but this seems quite short notice and my parents probably won't let me in any case...
ReplyDeleteI asked my mum about this, she had a big concern about the 13-week filmimg thing because I'm doing my GCSE's at the moment but she let me e-mail the casting director anyway.
ReplyDeleteBy that time it'll be the summer holidays anyway :)I really want to audition but I dunno and have no idea what to put in the email anyway. I'm guessing they'll be in London too =/

ReplyDeleteAnnabelle, when did you send your e-mail? I sent mine on Saturday, and still haven't had a reply - I just resent one containing more information.. So I'm not sure if it depends (: Good luck when you do though x
ReplyDeleteI sent mine on Saturday as well and haven't got a reply, although I wasn't expecting one at the weekend because I doubt they'll be looking at emails then. I only asked for more information on the actual show etc, rather than give them my details - but didn't realize at the time I was meant to. Don't really want to email again though just in case it seems a bit =/ Also I need to know where the auditions are because I don't know if I'll be able to get up there another reason why I didn't send my details on Saturday :(

ReplyDeleteThe casting director came into my drama group a copal of days back, gave a few of us some scripts and filmed us. The script and charaters are great! Its got a really empowering sense to it, and has some witty humour to.
ReplyDeleteI think it all went really well, but we'll see!
Good luck xx
I have emailed her about 2/3 times asking for audition information, my general info ect., but no reply. This was about 1 or 1 and 1/2 months ago. Should I just keep waiting? If not, what should I do? xx
ReplyDeleteThey seem to be mainly seeing people in the Bristol area at the moment.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't hear back at all, it would normally mean they don't think you are suitable for any of the roles currently being cast. They will have had hundreds of applications so won't be able to see everyone.
I have heard back, but I don't live in Bristol, but near it, so she said that if in any way they were to expand their search, then she would contact me :D xx
ReplyDeleteSent a E-mail , Havent got a reply yet sent it about a week ago ,Hope I get a reply! ,
