The London Critics’ Circle has announced the nominees for its 32nd Film Awards, including five fantastic young actors all nominated for the Young British Performer of the year, and all previously featured on Screenterrier.
The five nominees for Young British Performer of the Year are:
John Boyega for his role as Moses in 'Attack the Block'. John has been out in the US this year filming on Spike Lee's TV pilot Da Brick.
Jeremy Irvine for his role in Steven Spielberg’s 'War Horse'. Jeremy will also star as Pip in next year's film adaptation of Great Expectations, and recently filmed Now Is Good alongside Dakota Fanning.
20 year old Yasmin Paige for her role as Jordana in 'Submarine'. Familiar to TV audiences for her roles in The Sarah Jane Adventures and Ballet Shoes, Yasmin starred alongside fellow nominee Craig Roberts in Richard Ayoade's directorial debut Submarine.
20 year old Welsh actor Craig Roberts for his lead role in 'Submarine'. Craig, who started out in children's TV starring in Young Dracula and Tracy Beaker, has two films due out in 2012, Comes a Bright Day and The First Time.
17 year old Saoirse Ronan for her starring role in 'Hanna'. Saoirse was nominated last year but lost out to Connor McCarron. 2012 should see Saoirse shooting the lead role of Daisy in How I Live Now as well as The Host from Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer.
The Critics’ Circle Film Awards will be presented on Thursday, 19th January 2012 at BFI Southbank.
