We are looking for children who live in the Leeds/Manchester/Sheffield area to play characters between the ages of 7 – 16 years old (if you are aged 17-18 you can still apply but must look young enough to play a 16 yr old). We are looking for boys & girls of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities & abilities. This series will shoot in the north of England between 23rd July and 23rd September 2012.
If you are interested in being considered for this project, please EMAIL us (NO PHONE CALLS) with the following information – you MUST include all the required details listed below:
-Full name
-Age & Date of Birth
-Where you live (which town/city)
-Any previous acting experience
-Include a recent PHOTO
-Include a contact email address & phone number
-Anything else you think we should know about you
If we think you may be suitable for a part, we will contact you to invite you to an audition (meetings will be by appointment only) and PLEASE NOTE: if you are called for an audition, you will need to be accompanied by an adult.

ReplyDeleteI sent a headshot, full body shot and half body shot, and they are supposed to be looking for new young actors, not ones that already are with agencies >_> Where did you get this info? I wanna be up to date
ReplyDeletei got it from a different website notapushymum.com but type into google notapushymum sparticle mystery and it should come up with direct link cos the websites quite confusing... hopefully they'll audition people without agents after... I just sent a headshot aswell with some work I have done... fingers crossed they contact us later :) X

ReplyDeleteno... if they auditioned everyone at the same time there would be loads at the audition... and they want to make sure they can trust the people who they give the job to and they just think people with agents will be more trustworthy... unfair, especially when they say its an open audition, but we just have to hope that they audition people without agents after :) Good luck X
ReplyDeleteThey probably will audition people without agents after otherwise there would have been no point in them posting advertisement plus on another website it says Experience: no experience needed, it's who fits the part :) x

ReplyDeletejust heard that those who e-mailed without an agency from Mancester are auditioning next week... but people from Leeds or Sheffield havent heard back... Not sure how reliable this is because wasnt really sure if the person actually ment people without agents... but just passing info on to keep everyone informed hopefully we'll all get an e-mail soon... I'm from Leeds and havent heard anything. X

DeleteYeah I found out that there are auditions next week. I'm not sure is this is true, I found it on 'notapushymum'. I am from near Manchester but I haven't got an audition yet. I don't have an agent either. I wish they would give people without agents a chance!

ReplyDeleteAnd Connor, I'm close to Manchester and I don't have an audition either. You never know we might still get one but just not this week, but thier doing all the people with agents first. People without agents could be just as good, but the casting directors know that agents are more reliable - it's annoying, I know, but I guess that's just how it works. :)

No no no, they didn't say I had n audition, it was a reply because I asked exactly what was going on this week and they told me that the are doing a few in manchester, then in the other areas then back to Manchester etc

ReplyDeleteHi there guys, definitely do not email the casting director a second time if they did not reply to your first email, unless of course you have a direct/urgent question to ask. It is just likely to annoy them, and could decrease your chances of getting an audition. If they're interested in you then they will email you back eventually, even if it's not for ages. If they're not intersted in you then unfortunately it's unlikely you'll ever hear back. Best of luck to all of you! :)

ReplyDeleteI got a reply, but it didn't say that I have got an audition but she said that they have had over 1000 submissions, and first they are doing people with agents and in the area of Leeds and Manchester, but later on they will still be doing people with out agents, in any area of the UK but first Manchester/Leeds. She also said it won't be decided until August/July, so if people don't have auditions yet - Don't worry.

ReplyDeleteWell, I actually emailed 2 emails but they both said the same thing. I accidentally emailed the second one when I was checking what I put on the first email, when it sent again (I pressed reply to all - I didn't mean to!) But this was only about 5 days after I sent the first one, which was the 25th April. So the only reason they probably sent an email back to me was because I was annoying them, and they probably just got annoyed and thought oh, I'll have to reply to shut her up! So technically it was my original email - but It kind of wasn't at the same time. She said it was too early on in the process to do people without agents, but they defiantly will. If you didn't get an email back like I did, I don't think it makes any difference.

If anyone has, what kind of acting experience did you put on yours? I only have amateur experience, so I just want to know what other people put, because mine may sound a bit pathetic.

I put a headshot,letter n CV. I have done theater work and some more theatre work but thats pretty much it. Not anything big like 'Matilda' or 'We will rock you' . Hope they give us a try cause I only got into acting a year ago and spent most of that in drama classes too.

I can't remember but I know it was an assistant, she told me they were only doing auditions in Manchester and Leeds she didn't say 'at the moment' so I took that as a you haven't got a audition because no-one from Sheffield has even tho I can still get to Leeds and Manchester. But I didn't put that in my submission so I'm feel pretty stupid now :/ x

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't really matter when you applied, because she said to me the casting won't be finished until July/Aug and bet loads of other people have applied at the same time as you. Someone might still reply, but don't keep your hopes up, they've already had 1000+ emails... That's loads. Oh and also it doesn't mean that when the closing date has past, they still won't read your email, it's not like the emails been closed down or anything, they'll still get your email. :) x
