400 Boys

A host of young British talent is included in the international cast of 400 Boys, an action fantasy feature film from British director Alastair Paton, which is set to shoot for eight weeks from late October in Hong Kong, Macau and ACE Studios in Guangzhou, China.

Jodelle Ferland, the 17-year-old Canadian starlet, who currently lends her voice to a central character in ParaNorman, heads the young cast as Friday,  alongside "Resident Evil: Retribution" star Bingbing Li, and Spanish actress Maria Valverde as Paiva.

The young Brits include 16 year Charlie Rowe (represented by ARG), recently seen as Peter Pan in Sky's Neverland, as Phat Frank and 18 year old Lucy Boynton (represented by United Agents), star of Ballet Shoes, who also recently filmed the lead role of Esther in the feature Copperhead directed by Ron Maxwell, as Heidi.

Also in the cast are Sky1's Sinbad, 21 year old Elliot Knight (represented by Payne Management), Arts Ed graduate Jack Derges (represented by Claire Hoath Management) as DK, and Jonny Burt (represented by Ken McReddie) as Mr 72.

Paton's script is a race against time where the old are trapped in worn out bodies and the young fear life more than death, and a battle between old and young commences.

Pegasus Motion Pictures Distribution's Raymond Wong said of the film: "It’s an original story, a great script, is fast, has a young cast and with a 16-30 target audience, it’s the perfect film for us to release in China."
