The Kids Casting Agency

A new Channel 4 observational documentary series called The Kids Casting Agency will take a look inside Bizzykidz, one of the largest children’s talent agencies in the UK, to enter the extraordinary and competitive world of young stars, wannabe models and some of their powerhouse parents, many of whom are chasing fame and fortune before they’ve even left school.

The four one-hour episodes will follow these children and their parents from the highs and lows of competitive casting to winning some of the most exciting jobs in show business. From dressing as zombies in the rain, jetting off to the Caribbean for a modelling shoot and appearing in a West End show we observe the pressures of trying to make a name for yourself under not only the spotlight, but also the watchful gaze of mum and dad.

Bizzykidz Talent agency is run by no-nonsense owner Debi, who alongside her team, navigates the careers of over 1,300 wannabes. From models to actresses, singers and dancers, they cover the full spectrum of the performers of the future. The series will circumnavigate this sometimes cut throat industry, whether you are 6 or 16. According to the agency no age is too young to start a busy career in the industry, modelling is one of the only professions where you can start working within a few days of being born. You can even have your face splashed across billboards and social media accounts before you’ve spoken your first words. Whether you are the son of an ex-banker, a pair of sisters both trying to make it big or a 10 month old whose mother wants to be able to afford private education, there are a whole range of motivations for wanting to become a star, and we’ll meet them all.

Commissioning Editor David Brindley says, ‘From future pop stars to powerhouse parents, wannabe models to musical theatre stars, The Kids Casting Agency is as entertaining as the world in which it’s set. From within one of Britain’s busiest kids casting agencies, this series uncovers a fascinating world, discovering why children want to become famous and how their parents feel about entering this cut-throat world. It’s a series full of warmth and wit, celebrating Britain’s most talented tots.’

Twofour’s Creative Director David Clews says, “We live in a society where fame has never been more accessible for children, but as this series reveals it takes hard work, talent and a lot of cuteness to reach the top of your game, especially when you’re 4 feet tall. We’ll take the viewer centre stage of the exciting world of child talent as kids and parents chase their ultimate dream.”
